Conducted voice of customer (VoC) research to better understand the barriers keeping owners and operators from adopting existing secure communication protocols. 2. Analyzed the VoC findings to provide a clearer path for (a) critical infrastructure organizations to adopt secure communication protocols and (b) manufacturers to reduce the cost and complexity of adopting secure communication protocols in their products. This guidance provides recommendations based on the VoC analysis to both critical infrastructure organizations and to manufacturers. Critical infrastructure owners and operators: Implement the list of recommendations in Appendix A to remove barriers to adopting secure communication protocols.
